Inform, prevent, assist

Every day, about 1000 Nepali migrate to India, the countries of the Persian Gulf or other Asian countries in order to find a job. Wages that they send back to the country are the primary source of income for Nepal. Unfortunately, these migrations are often dangerous and poorly prepared, especially for women and children who are exposed to all forms of exploitation and violence, and even slavery.

Our program aims to prevent risky migration, prepare the departure of candidates for migration, financially support women in high vulnerability and assist the victims of exploitation.
Planète Enfants works for this, in collaboration with Governments, other local associations and a network of more than 300 volunteers.

A few figures

15 000 immigration applicants prepared

3 questions to Anju Chaudhari * 22-year- old beautician at Bardia

How did you meet Planète Enfants?
In 2009, I decided to go try my luck abroad. I didn't want to live in the village, my family was too poor, I wanted to earn money. I talked about my project in a women's group that advised me to go to Planète Enfants.

What did they proposed you?
Very quickly, it turned out that I was not prepared to go to work abroad. The team of Planète Enfants asked me how they could help me to stay in Nepal. I've wanted to set-up a beauty Institute, with their support.

Are you still in touch?
More than ever! I have proposed to assemble a group of Planète Enfants beneficiaries to voluntarily help inform young girls like me, attempting emigration but without skills, without papers, without contact, in brief without the necessary preparation. I am proud to help others.
