Better protection for migrant women and their children PDF Print E-mail

Tens of thousands of young men, women, and children leave Nepal each year in the hope of a better life or of a salary to send back to their families.  Among these young girls and women, without official papers, are the most vulnerable to exploitation and trafficking.

For 3 years our program “Passport through Hell” has informed them on precautions to take before leaving.  It also offers economic alternatives to departure for young mothers who would be ready to leave their children in Nepal without protection.

In fact since the beginning of the year the information has spread like wild-fire.  Groups of villagers have been formed in order to support our activities and to systematize the prevention of risky migration.  The advocacy of Planète Enfants towards local authorities has borne fruit!
